Community Care

Dayspring Presbyterian Church is a “Community of Faith and Care.”

As such we offer care to the larger community in which we are located in various ways.

Food Bank Depot: For nearly 30 years, we have been a depot for Edmonton’s Food Bank – providing food hampers every Thursday afternoon, 3:oo – 4:so pm for about 25 of the Food Bank’s clients. Volunteers from our own congregation and neighboring congregations make this possible.

Duds @ Dayspring: Open at the same time as the Food Bank depot, this initiative makes gently used clothing for children and adults, blankets, towels, toiletries, etc. available to community members, Food Bank  clients, and congregational members. Payment is by freewill donation.

Playgroup & Coffee Drop-in: We partner with the  Family Futures Resource Network to provide this opportunity for children and their care-providers every Friday, 10:00 to 11:30 am.

Neighbourhood Care Network: We are active members of this consortium with Greenfield-Community Church. See here for a description of the many initiatives that have resulted from this partnership.
